Customer reviewsPerfect for us
My wife and I are always looking for unique contemporary items for our home and purchased this item based on descriptions and reviews from overseas buyers of like items. Short story: it's perfect for us, but may not be so for everyone. It arrived in a timely manner and was simply but adequately packaged for shipment. The template provided made it simple to properly hang. We could not use the hangers provided but a trip to the hardware store fixed that. Two warnings: 1 even though dimensions are provided in the product description, this thing is large and will dominate all but the largest walls, so have a location in mind before you buy and 2 the glossy surface creates a nice visual effect but will reflect nearby light sources. This makes positioning doubly important. Obtaining the nighttime glow effect was a little tricky for us due to the position we chose. Ambient lighting was insufficient to create the full effect. We experimented with a floodlight and had some success, but did not pursue this further because we discovered an effect which suited us better. We placed a 10 Watt LED spotlight about 15 feet in front of the painting this spotlight automatically cycles slowly through a spectrum of colors, including white. We were delighted to find that the depth and composition afforded by the painting varied significantly with color. For instance, in green light the winter scene takes on an almost 3-dimensional look. Other colors emphasize or de-emphasize various portions of the painting. Needless to say, we were thrilled by this discovery.
