Customer reviewsPricy, but worth it
Last year I bought a different umbrella from Amazon and returned it in disgust after it repeatedly ripped loose and tumbled down the beach in normal Myrtle Beach wind. Looking for a new umbrella this summer, I saw Frankford umbrellas mentioned in a NY Times article on the best beach umbrellas and decided to give this one a try even though it was double my price point for an umbrella. We tried it at Myrtle Beach with the wind registering 9 MPH at Myrtle Beach Airport, and with minor, typical whitecapping on the ocean. It stood firm. I didn't examine the construction thoroughly, but it seems well made, and I am hopeful that I have bought my last beach umbrella.
